Top 10 for Franziska Brausse in the Baloise Ladies Tour 2023 Prologue

Franzi battled through the wind on the 2.6km course to take 8th.

The 2023 Baloise Ladies Tour opened today with a 2.6-kilometre prologue in Vlissingen. Following the coast, the course was battered by the wind with strong gusts causing many riders, including Martina Fidanza to come down during the recon.

The whole team put in a strong performance over the short distance with all riders finishing within 21 seconds of the overall winner. Brausse was our best-placed rider in 8th place with Fidanza also finishing inside the top 20 despite having some road rash from her earlier fall.

"The wind was crazy, with strong gusts", explained Franziska Brausse, "so it was a gamble if you were going to be lucky with the wind for your start time. I was a bit unlucky but overall I am happy with the performance and it's nice to know I'm feeling good ahead of the track World Championships."
