Marta Lach Sprints to Second at Classic Lorient Agglomeration CERATIZIT

Marta finishes off the team's efforts with a strong sprint after Franzi Brauße forces an early breakaway.

Following an early move by Uno-X, Brauße spent the first half of the attritional Plouay course at the front of the race with an advantage of over 6'00". The gap grew on the flatter parts of the course but tumbled as the counterattacks from the peloton began on the steeper slopes, at which point Brauße's work was done and she returned to the peloton.

Contributing to the chase behind, Alice Maria Arzuffi, Hanna Nilsson, Cedrine Kerbaol and Laura Asencio worked well together to keep each other in a good position for the final laps. With multiple cards to play, Asencio, Arzuffi and Nilsson managed the time gap to perfection, bringing Lach and Kerbaol back into contention as the bunch crossed the line for the penultimate time.

Kerbaol emptied the tank with one of her trademark, explosive attacks with 7km to go but was eventually caught, allowing Lach to contest the sprint for second place.

Marta Lach complimented her teammate's efforts at the finish, "The girls did a super job today, we were always in a good position and always together. Franzi had a great breakaway and that meant that there was less pressure in the bunch for the first half of the race. I thought I'd made a mistake with my positioning in the final but in the end, I'm super happy to take a podium in a WorldTour race."
