Success at the German Track Nationals with a break through rides from Lana Eberle

Brennauer, Eberle and Teutenberg taste success at the German National Track Championships.

Büttgen played host to the 2022 German Track National Championships, where we had 3 riders representing CERATIZIT - WNT Pro Cycling Team, Lisa Brennauer, Lana Eberle and Lin Teutenberg.

The three aforementioned riders won the gold in the team pursuit becoming the national champions alongside Laura Süßemilch, with Brennauer adding another gold to her tally in the individual pursuit, with Teutenberg taking home silver in the final. 18 year old Lana Eberle qualified for the bronze medal ride, but had to settle for fourth after a strong performance.

Eberle went on to take more medals, this time in the bunch races, with a gold medal in the Madison, silver medal in the points race, bronze medal in the elimination race as well as a 9th in the scratch race. A true display of strength, development and maturity on the young shoulders of Eberle.

Eberle spoke after her achievements, saying "I am very happy about this whole week of racing, because I didn't expect much after crashing in a training session before. It's my most successful nationals on the track and I am really happy about my first gold medals at nationals, because I got a lot of silver and bronze in the last years. It was great to have this big opportunity to do the team pursuit with Lisa, Laura and Lin, because they trusted and supported me a lot. I also could undercut my personal best in the individual pursuit by 4 seconds and came into the bronze final. Unfortunately I still lack the strength to ride a second time in one day the Individual Pursuit, so my final wasn't as good as the qualification, but I am still proud to have got there.

I was very happy that Kirsten [Wild, 9 x World Champion and 8 x European Champion] was there for the elimination and the scratch race, because she is one of the best people I can learn from. She gave me important tips and spoke with me about my plan for the races, which was very helpful.
After this championship I have to get ready for my next goals, and I am in a positive mood to be qualified for the U23 European Championships."
