WNT-ROTOR Pro Cycling continue to develop talent

U23 European Champion, Aafke Soet, and Austrian, Anna Badegruber have both re-signed for 2019, with Lin Teutenberg, a bronze medallist in the U23 team pursuit going into her second year of her 2-year contract.

20-year-old Soet had a standout year, winning our first race of the season in tremendous style on the final stage of the Healthy Ageing Tour, going on to add the best young rider’s jersey to her name at the 12th round of the UCI Women’s World Tour, Emakumeen Bira, followed by the U23 European Champions jersey in the time trial as well as silver in the road race.

Agreeing a deal until 2020, Aafke said “I’m very excited to extend my contract with WNT-ROTOR. This year was a very good one for me and I am sure that I can continue developing myself whilst under the guidance of the team, especially with the big names who they have signed in these last few weeks. I am already looking forward to next season.”

21-year old Badegruber entering her third year with the team, has been a key part to the team’s results, extending for one more year, saying “I am really happy and grateful to get the opportunity to stay with the team for another year in 2019. I am looking forward to this new adventure. After this season which was overshadowed by a lot of crashes I am willing to succeed and make a step forward in my cycling career.”

Whilst our U23 European bronze medallist, Lin Teutenberg goes into her second year of her contract and will be looking forward to another year of progressing along with representing Germany on the track. “I feel like I’ve made great progress with the team in my first year as an under-23, I was 18th on stage 1 of the Lotto Belgium Tour the other day, and each race I do I am gaining more and more experience.”

Cutting Tools Europe, managing director Claude Sun said “It’s really important for us to keep developing these three young riders. They’ve had some great results, but I am certain with the help and guidance from Lisa, Kirsten and Ane, they will continue to flourish.”

WNT – Cutting Tool supplier with connection to the cycling industry

WNT is CERATIZIT Group’s competence brand for mass distribution and regional sales, offering high quality cutting tools and a unique service to small and medium-sized enterprises. The Ceratizit Group is a privately owned company, based in Mamer, Luxembourg, which develops and manufactures highly specialised carbide cutting tools, inserts and rods made of hard materials as well as wear parts. With over 9,000 employees at 34 production sites and a sales network of over 70 branch offices, the Group is a global player in the carbide industry.

Cycling has a close connection to WNT products. Many bicycle components are manufactured using metalcutting technology. Important customers, such as the British firm Hope Technology or the Spanish company Rotor Bike Components, use WNT's quality tools to produce their high-quality bicycle parts. Therefore cycling sponsorship is an ideal marketing tool for WNT to increase brand awareness and make products more accessible to the general public outside of the narrow target groups. Despite this, cycling embodies exactly this same spirit, which is already present within the company and its values.
