A. General

For reasons of simplicity, the masculine form is used throughout this Privacy Policy to refer to both sexes. No discrimination is intended.

For definitions of terms such as “personal data” or “processing”, reference should be made to Article 4 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The personal data of users processed within the framework of this online offer includes user details (e.g. customers’ names and addresses), contract data (e.g. services used, names of contact persons, payment information), usage data (e.g. visited websites of our online offer, interest in our products) and content data (e.g. entries in the contact form).

“User” here includes all categories of persons affected by the data processing. For example, it includes our business partners, customers, interested parties and other visitors to our online offer.

B. Specific

Privacy Policy
We guarantee that we only collect, process, store and use your data for the purposes of dealing with your inquiries and for internal purposes, and to provide services requested by you or to supply content.

Data processing principles

We process users’ personal data only in compliance with relevant data protection regulations. This means that users’ data is only processed where legal permission has been granted, in other words,

  • to provide our contractual services (e.g. processing of orders) and supply online services, or where legally required,
  • where you have given your consent, and
  • on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and commercial operation and security of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, particularly for reach measurement, creation of profiles for advertising and marketing purposes and collection of access data and use of third-party services).

The GDPR provides the legal basis for the above as follows:

Consent - Art. 6 (1) (a) and Art 7 GDPR

Processing for performance of our services and the taking of contractual measures - Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR

Processing for compliance with our legal obligations - Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR

Processing for safeguarding of our legitimate interests - Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR

Data transmission to third parties

Data will be transferred to third parties only in compliance with legal requirements. We only pass users’ data to third parties if required, for example, for contractual purposes or on the basis of our legitimate interest in the economic and effective operation of our business. If we use subcontractors to provide our services, we will take appropriate legal precautions and suitable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data in accordance with relevant legal requirements.

Data transmission to a third country or an international organisation

Third countries are countries in which the GDPR does not have the force of directly applicable law. This basically includes all countries outside the EU or the European Economic Area.

Data is transmitted (Google Maps, DoubleClick) to a third country or an international organisation. It is ensured that appropriate/adequate guarantees are in place and that you have enforceable rights and effective remedies.

Copies of suitable guarantees can be obtained by following these links:

Storage period of your personal data

We adhere to the principles of data economy and data avoidance. This means that we store the data you have provided to us only for as long as necessary to fulfil the aforementioned purposes or for the various storage periods determined by law. Once the purpose has ceased or the corresponding periods have expired, your data will be disabled or deleted routinely and in accordance with the legal requirements.

To this end we have created an internal company concept to ensure that this procedure is followed.

Contacting CERATIZIT Deutschland GmbH

If you contact us via email or via contact form, you agree to electronic communication. When you contact us, personal data is collected. Which data is collected in the case of a contact form can be seen from the respective contact form. Your data will be transmitted securely (SSL-encrypted). The information you provide will be stored solely for the purpose of dealing with the request and for possible follow-up questions.

We hereby draw your attention to the legal basis:

Processing for performance of our services and the taking of contractual measures - Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR

Processing for safeguarding of our legitimate interests - Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR

We use software to maintain customer data (CRM system) or similar software based on our legitimate interests (providing a quick and efficient response to users’ questions).

To this end, we have concluded an order processing agreement with the provider whereby the provider is obliged to process user data only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with EU data protection standards.

We would point out that emails can be read or modified without authorisation and unnoticed in the course of transmission. We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that we use software to filter unwanted emails (spam filter). The spam filter may reject emails if they have been wrongly identified as spam due to certain features.

What are your rights?

Nor does it affect data processing based on other legal foundations, such as contract initiation (see above).

Protection of your personal data
We adopt contractual, organisational and technical security measures in line with the state of the art to ensure compliance with data protection laws and to protect data processed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Security measures include, in particular, the encrypted transfer of data between your browser and our server. For this purpose, 256-bit SSL (AES 256) encryption technology is used. The security measures in place will be continuously improved in line with technological developments. Despite these precautions, due to the insecure nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted by you to our online offer. Because of this, any transfer of data from you to our online offer is at your own risk.

DoubleClick by Google web analysis service
We use the DoubleClick by Google online marketing tool provided by Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“DoubleClick”).

DoubleClick uses cookies to show ads that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to determine which ads are running in which browser and can prevent them from being displayed multiple times.

Cookie IDs also allow DoubleClick to log conversions related to ad requests, for example if a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later goes to the advertiser's website with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no control over the extent and further use of the data collected through the use of this tool by Google and therefore inform you to the best of our knowledge: By integrating DoubleClick, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked an ad from us. If you are registered with a service provided by Google, Google may associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find and store your IP address.

You can opt-out of participating in this tracking process by turning off cookies for conversion tracking. To do this, set your browser to block cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.comhttps://www.google.de/settings/ads, but note that this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies. Alternatively, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance website to learn about the use of cookies and settings. Finally, you can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, allow the setting of cookies for specific cases or generally exclude the setting of cookies. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our online offer.
